Problem Solving and Innovation Learning through Integrative Education: A Global Afterschool Experiment

Abstract

We present an innovative curriculum that teachers independent thinking, collaboration, and innovation mindset to school-aged children. We share an opportunity for schools and teachers to join a growing movement of non-traditional facilitation of problem-solving and innovation mindset in school children. Through our eight-step problem-solving process, we coached 120 students from 2-12 grades to find effective solutions to the problems we all face. Their chosen problem was the basis for their multi-disciplinary learning of innovation methods.
