Abstract
With the ongoing war in the Donbass region of Ukraine following the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014, a new player has been caught in the geopolitical tangle between Ukraine and Russia: the Orthodox Church. From autocephaly and tomos, to the severing of full communion between two patriarchates, this paper shows how prayers and parishes have played a significant role in the rather unknown religious side of the Ukraine-Russian conflict.
