Waiting for Godot: Pandemic Variations

Abstract

This proposal involves the performance of an original musical composition. Composed in 2021, Waiting for Godot is a musical reaction to the recent pandemic. It lasts about eleven minutes. It is written for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, piano, and strings (1111+1000+pno+strings). The work was inspired by the oeuvre of Samuel Beckett, Albert Camus, and Heitor Berlioz, and music of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as practiced around the world. This is the world premiere performance. I will provide the full score and a MIDI recording of the work.
