Abstract
A school district superintendent discusses how transformative leadership is the key to overcoming a crisis. Active discussion will center on the difference in leading vs managing along with different types of crises. Audience engagement will incorporate consideration of how educators have dealt with a crisis in the past. The presenter will apply five different lessons of leadership to address specific short term and long term crises in the past. Video clips of school level leaders will demonstrate possibilities for addressing school crises.
