A Global Perspective on Affects of Armed Conflict on Women

Abstract

Armed conflict is different from war. War has an end but armed conflict continues long and estimated losses incurred in case of armed conflict is often more than war. Armed conflict is considered to be people’s war. Armed conflict is the use of armed to used by two or more group one of which is one is the government of state in order to attain their political objectives. Recent scholars have derived the positive and negative associations between armed conflict and women. Understanding the negative associations between armed conflict and women, I consider it to be affects of on women residing in the armed conflict situations. In order to know the affects minutely in global context, I have taken two factors enabling and inhibiting. Enabling factors are forces that facilitate or impede individual, collective or environmental change based on their level of availability. Inhibiting factors are those element, event, circumstances or influences in bringing about a result out outcomes. I have listed the enabling factors and inhibiting factors in the countries where the armed conflict are prevailing or has prevailed earlier and are working on the post conflict reconstructions. The reasons for considering the post conflict reconstruction countries is to gain in-depth insight of the affects of armed conflicts which scholars argues that consequences of armed conflict has in terms of generational impact.
