Analysis of Determinants of Stress in Hospital Staff during Organizational Change: A Life Story-Based Study

Abstract

In a context where hospitals face increasing demand for care, reforms and organizational changes are necessary to meet the needs of the population. However, these adjustments have an impact on the working conditions of the staff and the hospital environment. This research explores the factors that influence the stress of hospital staff during transitions and evaluates their impact on the quality of healthcare services. The study focuses specifically on healthcare professionals who are exposed to stressful situations. A qualitative methodology based on the life story method is used to analyze the hospital staff’s professional experience in depth. An exploratory study was conducted at the Taroudant hospital center in Morocco, involving semi-structured interviews with a sample of 10 employees. This research significantly contributes to the understanding of stress among hospital staff during organizational change. This study sheds light on the crucial role of the Taroudant hospital in managing employee stress and its impact on their well-being, opening up new avenues for future research. It challenges some preconceived notions and emphasizes the importance of organizational strategies in improving the quality of care while reducing stress among hospital staff.
