Transforming a School to be Future Proof with the Help of AI: Leveraging Expertise and Maintaining Vision in School Transformation

Abstract

The world is rapidly changing and traditional educational design is no longer fit for purpose. Working with CTL Academy we have transformed the secondary school to offer a more modern course offering with a focus on 21st Century Skills, project based instruction and the latest in research surrounding the importance to timetable time for fitness, gratitude, and mindfulness. This session will give participants a preview of our process grounded in Michael Fullan’s work around the ‘Wrong Drivers’ and Jim Collin’s work “From Good to Great.’ Included in this session will be an opportunity to take our framework and apply it to their institutions to consider ways to effectively transform. Part of the discussion will also include how we have integrated the use of AI and framed for our teachers and learners. The workshop outcomes will include: 1) a deeper understanding of a school transformation process; 2) tools to return to your institution to work with to help transform; 3) considerations for ways to measure the impact of your transformation and its connectivity to the rapidly changing world.
