PHL Diversity: A Study in the Performance of Diversity by a Local Public Organization in the U.S.

Abstract

A division of the Philadelphia (PHL) Convention and Visitors Bureau, PHL Diversity is tasked with promoting the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA as an ethnically diverse destination and increasing its share of the multicultural tourism and meetings markets. PHL Diversity engages a broad array of corporate, government, and social constituencies to attract African American, Asian American, Latinx, Native American, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and women groups plus provide innovative and customized services and resources while generating economic impact for local businesses and residents. This study examines PHL Diversity as a modality of inclusive diversity acceptance.
