Abstract

The purpose of this study to investigate the factors affecting performance of residential care for the children in South Korea. This study analyzed 229 residential facilities. Data has been constructed of information from Korea National Association of Child Welfare (KNACW). The information is originally collected from National Social Service Provider Evaluation, which is a mandatory comprehensive national evaluation program in every three years. Multiple regression analysis was used. Organizational performance was measured with five different domains such as environmental factors, staffing factors, children factors, facility factors, and financial factors. One of findings is that director’s education level, number of migrant children, and types of dormitory appeared to influence their organizational performance. Some implications at both of practice and policy levels are provided for better performance of those facilities.
