Abstract
In most workplace environments, people come across diverse populations. In our modern world, the word “tolerance” can be seen as part of the deficit mindset since it does not allow us to fully embrace a persons beliefs, ideals, or identity. It is important for those of us who work in higher education to help bridge the gaps that can create these negative mindsets and promote a world of acceptance. Helping future generations understand diversity and the needs of inclusion and acceptance begins with promoting equality among higher educational faculty and staff and students. This workshop teaches valuable methods for diversity inclusion in an educational setting.
