Abstract
This workshop explores how communities, organisations, and leaders of all groups can build engagement through the use of storytelling. Techniques to connect with people and build community will be discussed and demonstrated as a practical method to help others adapt these techniques for their own purposes in their own situations. Broad headings of plot, theme, character, language, music and surprise will be unwrapped and applied to the needs and interests of participants who will leave the workshop with an understanding of how they can then apply the same techniques to better engage with diverse audiences and communities in their own contexts.
