Abstract
As a leader, the ability to influence your colleagues is vital. From my ten years of research in the area of social psychology, this session will discuss their cutting-edge research on persuasion, giving us an insight into our own persuasive abilities as well as how influence impacts others. I’m also going to share the results of my yearlong research for my upcoming national book Creating Amazing Work Organizations about the secret strategies top corporations use to attract and retain diverse candidates. Here are some of the questions to consider during the workshop. Why do so many diversity initiatives fail? How can you utilize persuasive research to better DEI strategies in your organization? How can we accurately estimate our ability to influence those around us? What are the components you need to build a healthy, vibrant diverse organization?
