Rescue of the Steamship Quanza Holocaust Refugees

This investigation uses a case study of the Steamship Quanza Holocaust refugee controversy to analyze the factors that helped to explain why U.S. government authorities made their immigration policy much more restrictive beginning in 1940, essentially closing the door to immigration of European refugees fleeing the War and Nazi persecution.
