Abstract
Disaster is an unpredictable event that might overwhelm the affected people’s ability to cope with its consequences. Many individuals are exposed to natural disasters regularly, and most disasters, or more accurately, risks that lead to disasters, are unavoidable. The main purpose of this study is to examine the prevalence and the determinants of disaster preparedness among the residents of the municipality of Hagonoy. The researcher used data-gathering tools, statistical treatment, and analysis. The results show that the preparedness of the families/ residents depends on their experience in the past typhoons and floods. The high level of likelihood of flood disaster among the residents indicates that most of them are at high risk.
