Abstract
The present research was a study on art as an instrument for communication and education during the process of environmental education. The objective was to demonstrate its impact and scope based on the constant need of environmental awareness for the Cuban population. To achieve this, a dialectic analysis of the subject of study was carried out, documents and visual aids regarding the subject were studied, and the data obtain from the survey to specialist involved in the process of Cuban environmental education was also analyzed. As result, an environmental initiative with a scientific-artistic approach was designed.
