Abstract
In the Federal Capital Territory Gwagalada, one of the six area council, observations were made of a farmer who combined livestock production and other farming activities such as planting of grasses, rearing of rabbit in the same compound of the farmer. The rabbit is a small animal with high potential, the high rate of multiplication are very high and preferred by the farmer. Many studies of rabbit production are being carried out in Nigeria, but the research on combination of rabbit production with other farming activities at individual house hold level were left out. This paper gives an overview of the farmers that combine rabbit production with other farm activities, the various challenges and the advantages of the various combination of rabbit, livestock production and household management in the Federal Capital Territory and options to facilitate the further development of rabbit production in Nigeria.
