Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for Teltelle Woreda Borena Zone

Abstract

Teltele Woreda is geographically located in southern part of Oromia regional state. It is characterized by arid climate with low and erratic rainfall. Rainfall is bi-modal throughout the woreda with annual rainfall of 250mm from September to November and 650mm from March to May. Telltale Woreda is home for pastoral and a gro-pastoral people that largely depend on livestock production for their livelihood. However, rainfall pattern and temperature generally changing time to time. To revert this situation, various approaches and adaptive strategy design at world, national, and community levels are needed to solve drought problem. However, mode of implementation is still challenging and requires much attention at all level.
