The Development of Soft Skills Interpretation on Fresh Graduate of Indonesian Vocational Education: Case Study the Implementation of Work from Home During COVID Pandemic 19

Abstract

Writing this article aims to explain the results of research on the development of soft skills interpretation that was triggered by the implementation of Work from Home (WFH) during the COVID pandemic 19 in Indonesia. The development of the interpretation of soft skills needs to be well understood by graduates of vocational education, especially the archives study program in Indonesia as an effort to prepare them to face the challenges of the rapidly developing world of work due to the development of digital technology. The research method is a case study referring to the COVID pandemic 19 which has triggered the implementation of WFH in Indonesia as an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. Collecting data through online Focus Group Discussion (FGDs), organized interviews with users of archiving program graduates, and archiving program graduates themselves. The results show that the interpretation of soft skills is no longer limited to meaning functions but has developed implicative functions where there is one important function that applies to all fields, namely the need for digital literacy skills, which can be seen clearly in the implementation of WFH during the COVID pandemic 19.
