Description

Domenico Giuseppe Lipani is Assistant professor of History of Performing Arts at the Department of Humanistic Studies, University of Ferrara. He is the Director of Centro Teatro Universitario of Ferrara (University Theatre) and coordinator of undergraduate degree in Communication Science.

His main research interests include:

1. Italian Renaissance theatre, with a focus on sacred representations in the late Quattrocento and connections with courtly patronage and material culture practices
2. Anthropology of performance, especially folk drama in Southern Italy
3. Applied theatre, in particular theatre and active citizenship, people’s empowerment through the performing arts, theatre and the medical humanities, theatre in prison.
