Creative Intersections - Unraveling Interactive Art with Artificial Intelligence: The Fusion of Generative AI and Viewer Engagement in Contemporary Art Creation

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a revolutionary medium, radically transforming artistic creation and perception. We explore the convergence of interactive art and AI, focusing on how Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and other AI technologies are redefining paradigms of creativity and viewer participation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the theoretical and practical dimensions of AI-generated art, with a particular emphasis on interactivity and viewer response. Topics such as the historical development of AI in art will be addressed, discussing how AI-generated art raises new questions about authorship, originality, and creativity. Significant examples of artworks incorporating AI will be examined, highlighting the dynamic interaction between the artwork and its audience. The design and development process will be detailed, demonstrating how viewer participation can influence and alter the generated artwork. The impact of these interactions on the interpretation and appreciation of art will be analyzed, providing insights into the relationship between the artist, the artwork, and the viewer. AI is not only a tool for artistic creation but also a catalyst for rethinking traditional notions of art and creativity. In doing so, it establishes a dialogue between technology and art, paving the way for new forms of artistic expression and understanding.
