Films Versus Politicians: Struggles for independant Film Art in Israel

Abstract

This paper considers what films have to say about Israeli reality and what the makers of that reality have to say about films. An insight into (the eternal) conflict between politicians and films, the historical development of this conflict, the impossibility of its solution. There is an ongoing debate about the use and misuse of public money invested in films.
