GIFs in Contemporary Art: Looping and Repetition in a World Full of Images

Abstract

GIFs are an immediate moving image, which will provide iconographic material to understand the acceleration in the creation and enjoyment of the image. It also acts as a device analogous to the first moving images of the century. XIX: short durations, immediate narratives and a constant looping. This study considers how this representation is accelerating at the present time due to the ease of production and the breadth of visibility devices.
