Abstract
This session details arts-based research and practice-based research from an ongoing focused ethnography at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Montréal. This focused ethnography has sought to understand children’s desired participation in their care and close the gap between child centric policy and practice. A series of children’s books, poetry, and theater has been developed to disseminate research findings directly to children as well as clinicians. The creative showcase explores the work as well as efforts to integrate the creative works into patient education and staff training materials in order to promote child inclusive hospital practice.
