Christianity is the largest religion in the United States. Because of this, it has spilled out from its traditional roles in churches and into other aspects of society, such as education, medicine and even politics in America. The arts have a history of creating change, particularly in that of the influence of religion, and are still doing that today. This essay explores the art activists of the past and discusses how the artists of today are advocating for a better world.
