Film Censorship and the Ailing Democracy

The paper will focus on the controversy surrounding the censorship of the feminist film "Lipstick under My Burkha" (2016), to highlight the nature of the ailment that Indian democracy is suffering from at present. Deploying the method of critical discourse analysis, the paper will also examine the deep rooted patriarchal anxiety which lies at the heart of the controversy.
