Abstract

This study compares two different models of virtual supervision with a bicameral focus. The first aim is to identify the best practices for information and communication technology (ICT) use in the supervision of student teachers and interns. The other aim is to identify the issues associated with the human and material variables. The impact of the comparative study sheds light on the key elements associated with the future needs and the direction of virtual supervision; it also identifies necessary support for increased instruction in specific skills and competencies. Two US universities, one online, one traditional, compared/contrasted the use of virtual supervision during teacher candidate internships. The article will demonstrate how the models were adopted, implemented, and modified.
