Abstract

This learning module will take the learner through the basics of emotions and their role in the learning process. Understanding the connection between emotions and learning is the key to implementing SEL skills in schools. The four factors of success are paired with the CASEL framework to create a lens where we can see both the drivers (SEL skills) and the outcomes (success factors) that are in play. This is a foundational course to see the picture and establish solid reasoning on the purpose behind SEL implementation. There is a deep dive into a few specific SEL skills concluding with an action step toward increasing SEL in schools.
