Abstract

This study involves an appropriate innovation for senior people in the community. The study examines factors affecting process innovation for senior people and finds out the innovation which is appropriate for those people. In order to collect the data, questionnaires were distributed to 349 senior persons, staff, and volunteers who work in the relevant field. Six senior people were also selected to be interviewed. The result of the study showed that group discussion and participation among leaders of the community, young people, and senior people is one of the factors affecting the innovation. Moreover, the Local Administration Office played an important role in encouraging innovation for senior people in the community. It was found that the office provided various services for them such as giving information, organizing activities, networking, promoting the process of thinking creatively, and supporting the budget. Regarding the appropriate innovation, it was revealed that the most acceptable one is the Process Innovation.
