Abstract

The study aims to identify the degree of availability of elements related to transparency in the relationship between the heads of departments and teaching staff at Jordan universities. To achieve this goal, an analytic-descriptive approach has been followed, where a random sample of 280 teaching staff from Yarmouk University and Jadara University was drawn. A questionnaire, which consisted of forty-two items and six dimensions, was administered to the sample. Validity was detected by introducing the questionnaire to eleven specialists; and reliability was detected through test-retest (0.95) and Cronbach alpha (0.90). The results identified the presence of a medium degree of transparency between the heads of departments and teaching staff at Jordan universities. The study recommended enhancing the concept of transparency at Jordanian universities through opening contact channels between administrators and staff.
