Abstract

Successful interdisciplinary curricula require support and collaboration from a range of stakeholders, including faculty, students, and administration. Columbia College Chicago recently launched a bachelor’s degree program in Design Management. Offered within the Business and Entrepreneurship Department, the success of the program is predicated on robust collaboration with different disciplines and departments, engagement from students, and the support and direction of administration. This article details the efforts to build a bridge from the Business and Entrepreneurship Department to other departments and constituents across campus in order to develop, refine, and communicate a valuable new degree program that connects the disciplines of design and business.
