Abstract

India shares a nearly 4,096-km border with Bangladesh, of which roughly half is open. Of this, 2,217 km is in the state of West Bengal alone. Cross-border migration from Bangladesh has always been a preeminent concern between the two countries. The migration from Bangladesh has raised many political, economic, and security concerns for India. The change in this region's social and economic atmosphere has resulted in various security concerns, particularly in the Indian state of West Bengal, adjacent to Bangladesh.
