Observations and Models
Abstract
Science is a never-ending negotiation between models and observation. Out of observational data, scientists construct models, which in turn guide and filter our observations of the world. The relationship between observation and models is not a linear path, but a cyclical rhythm as one defines, edits, and validates the other. It is a perpetual loop that alternates between the reality of everyday life and the conceptual realms of mathematics and philosophy. This paper presents how the practice of graphic design influenced the dynamic exchange between observation and models.
