Management and Organizational Theory
Abstract
The aim of this article is to discuss if the current decreasing number of publications concerning Organizational Theory (OT) observed in the bibliometric research, in comparison to the rising number of Management Theory (MT) publications, is affecting critical perspective within organizational studies. The method used was a bibliometric and a documentary analysis. Findings show two inflection points in 2007 and in 2012, where both sets of theories present different tendencies: the number of publications in Management Theory (MT) increased after 2012, meanwhile, for Organizational Theory (OT) there was a decrease. Is this the twilight of OT?
