Abstract

This paper used correlational analysis to identify the influence of Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) in precipitation and temperature of the Philippines, representing the area in Manila, Cebu, and Davao from the year 1982 to 2019. The precipitation and temperature data were obtained from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), while the TSI data were downloaded from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) daily database. The research found that there is a significant correlation between TSI and precipitation in the three major areas. Interestingly, there is a low negative correlation between TSI and temperature in Davao and a low significant correlation in Cebu. On the other hand, there is no significant correlation between TSI and temperature in Manila.
