Abstract

Today, homework is the subject of an intense educational and social dispute, although it is part of a common practice within schools and families. Our article was preceded by a review, which revealed two sides to this issue: there are those who are for and those who are against homework. Our article is a case study of a primary school in a multicultural Spanish city, located near a border with another country on the African continent. Information and opinions about homework such as frequency, quantity, homework time vs. leisure time, family help, and even stress, have been analyzed. Amongst some of the conclusions drawn, it is apparent that, in order to foster more family educational involvement in this area, there is a need for teacher training, and even parental orientation.
