Abstract

This evaluative research employed both quantitative and qualitative approaches. For the quantitative approach, 1,200 questionnaires were administered to students and teachers. Five groups of informants were interviewed regarding the policy launch, policy implementation, consequences of policy implementation, success factors, and obstacles of Thai values promotion policy implementation. Descriptive statistics, MRA, and content analysis were used to analyze data. The findings were revealed from the government distributing the Thai values promotion policy to practice units through official letters, newspapers, newsletters, radios programs, internet, and TV. The educational institutes drive the policy to teachers by using meetings and workshops. Teachers promoted Thai values to their students through teaching, modeling, project work, supplemental activities, etc. The consequences of policy implementation show that directors, principals, supervisors, teachers, and parents perceived that the importance of policy and collaboration be promoted to students. All students have a moderate level of values. Success factors and barriers were discussed.
