Abstract

Unemployment rates among young people in Africa have reached such an alarming stage that possible solutions are urgently needed to solve the problems and reduce poverty. The paper also discusses the concepts of Technical and Vocational Education and entrepreneurship development strategies for youths, as well as revealing that technical and vocational education are the only alternative forms of education and training that can guarantee entrepreneurship development and empowerment, job creation and unemployment reduction for youths since it empowers, equips and give the trainees saleable skills to be self-reliant. Conclusions and recommendations were also highlighted.
