Abstract

This project looks to understand what organizations are doing to better accommodate and employ individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This project has cast a wide net in order to attempt to answer why these individuals are among the lowest percentage, in the world of learning disabilities, to be employed. While there are handfuls of after school programs, internships, and online training courses, the low employment and underemployment rate remains the same. This article focuses on the experiences of companies that are leading the way with training and programs geared towards this particular set of workers.
