Abstract
The arts are an often neglected but important part of the education of young Mexican Americans in South Texas and Mexico. The performing arts--especially dance--are available through private companies. Costs and efforts are shared with public schools, exposing students to such classics as "Cascanueces" (The Nutcracker).
