A Hedonic Analysis of Community Supported Agriculture Share P ...
Abstract
As concerns mount over the negative health, environmental, and animal welfare consequences of the US conventional food system, local food markets are increasingly being seen as one alternative for consumers to procure what they consider as more nutritious, environmentally friendly, and ethically produced food. This article focuses on the community supported agriculture (CSA) segment of the local market by using a hedonic model to estimate consumers’ valuations of attributes of CSA in the US Midwest. Implications for CSA private strategies and public policies follow.
