Abstract

Cilegon City has an area of 17.550 ha with industrial zones covering an area of 2983.5 ha. Coal is one of the fuels used with a capacity of 170 to 255 tons per hour. The amount of the fuels used has an implication on the distribution of sulfur dioxide (SO2) emitted. A study on the distribution of SO2 concentration has been conducted in Cilegon City to make a formation of the distribution of concentration as a function of time. The study was conducted by using a grid by dividing the domain into a volume control. The results of the analysis of the formation model indicated that the distribution of the concentration of SO2 in Cilegon City were in the range of 3.387 µg/m3 to 51.058 µg/m3 in which high SO2 concentration occurred in Tamansari Village. In accordance with the predominant wind direction, SO2 spread towards to the East.
