Fariba Solati is a PhD candidate in the Interdisciplinary PhD program at the University of Manitoba, Canada. Her departments of studies are Economics, Anthropology and Political Studies. Her PhD specialization field is Women and Economic Development. Fariba’s thesis’ focus is on Women and Work in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Her current research is on factors affecting the rate of female labor force participation in MENA countries. She holds a Masters degree from the University of Manitoba with a specialization in Development Economics and Macro Economics. Fariba is a sessional instructor at the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg, Canada. Her teaching interests include Economics of Development and Macroeconomics.
