Abstract
Special pedagogy has developed tools that promote the inclusion of individuals with autism in accessing educational and cultural services over a long period. These tools, which include sensory maps, social stories and video modelling, are widely used by social educators and teachers, and have recently been integrated into the museum and tourism sectors (Tourism for All). Video modelling is a novel approach that museums are utilizing to enhance accessibility to cultural heritage for visitors with intellectual disabilities, including individuals with autism. This study showcases the initial tools employed by several Italian museums, with a detailed examination of the University of Macerata School Museum’s experience.
